Assistant Team Leader - Packaging Development

About the role

The Assistant Team Leader – Packaging Development supports the design, development and implementation of innovative packaging solutions for Juhayna’s dairy and juice products. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the role ensures that packaging meets functional, aesthetic and regulatory requirements while aligning with the company’s strategic and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead packaging development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Coordinate tasks, manage resources and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary liaison between packaging, marketing, procurement and manufacturing departments.
• Provide regular progress updates to the Head of Packaging Development and other stakeholders.
• Integrate sustainability considerations into all packaging initiatives.
• Standardise and manage the Packaging Specification Development system.
• Enhance the artwork approval process and use data to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead packaging innovation trials in plants, supporting new lines and formats.
• Assist marketing and purchasing with pack‑and‑price innovations and conduct technical feasibility assessments for sourcing.
• Oversee colour separation and print set approvals with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and quality.
• Manage trade auditing and monitoring programs to ensure packaging performance in the market.
• Collaborate with plant teams on loss‑elimination projects, providing technical input and specifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in packaging development projects within the food or beverage sector.
• Strong project‑management skills with the ability to meet timelines and budgets.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
• Commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement in packaging solutions.
