Back End Developer

About the role

BirdNest is looking for a skilled Back End Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance server‑side applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust APIs and scalable services that power modern web experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build and evolve RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Design, index, and optimise MongoDB databases, collections and queries.
• Write clean, well‑documented code following best practices.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and external services.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers and designers to deliver new features.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues in development and production environments.
• Optimise application performance, scalability and reliability.
• Implement authentication, authorization and security best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and support deployment processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and debugging abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
