Consultant – Construction Design, Oversight & Monitoring

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Egypt is seeking a qualified Consultant to provide technical and engineering support for the design, costing, procurement, construction, refurbishment, and equipment installation of multiple projects under the Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) programme. The consultant will ensure that all works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect initial data, develop design concepts, and produce detailed construction drawings.
• Prepare cost estimates, support procurement processes, and monitor contract execution.
• Provide technical advisory and oversight throughout construction, commissioning, and warranty phases.
• Coordinate closely with the IBG Government Liaison Consultant, National Project Officers, and the Senior IBG Programme Manager.
• Report progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering or construction degree.
• Proven experience in managing design, construction, and refurbishment projects.
• Familiarity with procurement and cost‑control procedures.
• Ability to work with national authorities and international partners.
