Coordination Engineer (Plant Engineer)

About the role

Hitachi Rail GTS Egypt is looking for a Coordination Engineer (Plant Engineer) based in Cairo. The role covers coordination of coordination designs and shop drawings, preparation of coordination drawings and layouts, and working with other trades and the project consultant through the detailed design phase.

Key responsibilities

• Check and review coordination designs and shop drawings received from integration CSD partners.
• Prepare telecom coordination input drawings and arrangement layouts.
• Coordinate with other trades to resolve conflicts between civil, MEP, electrical and other disciplines.
• Keep the CSD drawing log updated regularly.
• Study and prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) for missing, unclear or conflicting technical matters.
• Coordinate and attend coordination ceremonies with the project consultant and client.
• Work with the site engineer to provide information needed for release forms and site handling reports.
• Help solve and report unexpected technical difficulties during the detailed design phase.
• Prepare as-built drawings at the end of the project and hand them over to the project consultant.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or civil engineering.
• At least 3.5 years of experience; 2+ years of solid work experience coordinating large projects is a must.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, analytical mind with strong problem-solving and mathematical ability.
• Ability to work well in a team and good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max and Revit (a must).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
