Customs Operations Associate

About the role

As a Customs Operations Associate at Maersk, you will support customs execution activities, ensuring compliance with international regulations and facilitating the smooth movement of goods across borders. The role requires a detail‑oriented professional who enjoys collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in a fast‑paced global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute customs‑related operational and administrative tasks in line with local and international regulations.
• Prepare, review, and maintain customs documentation for import, export, transit and other clearance processes.
• Coordinate with customers, customs authorities, and service providers to ensure timely customs execution.
• Monitor shipment progress, support issue resolution and minimise delays.
• Enter accurate data into customs and operational systems and ensure completeness.
• Identify exceptions, escalate non‑routine issues and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, customs operations or a similar supply‑chain environment.
• Good understanding of logistics and international trade processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
