Senior System Integration Engineer

About the role

Alstom Grid is looking for a full‑time onsite Senior System Integration Engineer in Cairo to lead the integration of multiple railway subsystems. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable transport solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead system integration and interface management across signaling, rolling stock, PSDs, telecommunications, and SCADA.
• Define, prepare, review, and validate Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to align technical and operational requirements.
• Prepare and review Engineering Technical Notes, interface specifications, and technical assessments.
• Manage signaling‑related interfaces throughout design, testing, commissioning, and hand‑over phases.
• Conduct technical coordination meetings to resolve interface issues and integration risks.
• Oversee verification and validation activities, including FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing.
• Analyze operational scenarios to ensure seamless interaction between signaling and other railway systems.
• Support change‑management activities by assessing technical impacts on interfaces.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in railway/metro projects with strong systems integration and signaling interface background.
• Proven experience with CBTC, ETCS, Interlocking, ATS, ATP, ATO or similar railway signaling systems.
• Familiarity with railway standards such as EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC, UIC.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken) and skilled in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder‑management and technical‑leadership abilities.
