Data Protection Engineer – Cyber Security (Cairo)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Protection Engineer to join Deloitte Innovation Hub in Cairo. The role focuses on designing, implementing and operating data protection solutions that safeguard client information across on‑premises and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Define data protection use cases and technical specifications, covering the full data lifecycle.
• Design and architect DLP, CASB and related solutions that meet business objectives and industry standards such as NIST.
• Create system architecture and data‑flow diagrams with detailed component descriptions.
• Specify dependencies including network rules and server infrastructure required for solution deployment.
• Integrate data protection workflows with third‑party security tools such as SIEM platforms and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Configure and operate data discovery servers, access‑governance mechanisms, database monitoring and rights‑management tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, implementing and operating data protection solutions for enterprise clients.
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management in both on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST).
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
