About the role
Moishi Egypt, a Japanese‑style café in Cairo, is seeking a full‑time Demi Chef De Partie to support senior chefs in delivering high‑quality Japanese‑inspired dishes, desserts, and pastries. You will work on‑site in a fast‑paced kitchen that blends traditional Japanese elements with modern culinary techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs in preparing Japanese‑inspired dishes, desserts, and pastries.
- Prepare and portion ingredients with precise measurements.
- Maintain strict food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.
- Oversee and guide junior kitchen staff during service.
- Contribute ideas for new menu items and ensure consistent presentation.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation, especially Japanese cuisine.
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques and accurate ingredient measurement.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and efficient kitchen operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively, assist senior chefs, and mentor junior staff.
- Creative mindset for menu development and innovation.
- Experience in a professional kitchen; culinary arts education is a plus.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills in a high‑tempo environment.
