Design Manager - Landscape, Asset Development & Real Estate

About the role

Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate, part of the Al-Futtaim Group, is looking for a Design Manager for landscape design within its asset development and real estate business. The role leads the landscape design function across real estate developments, ensuring high-quality, sustainable, functional and aesthetically appealing outdoor environments that meet the project vision, brief, budget, operational needs, regulatory standards and construction objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare landscape design scopes covering softscape, hardscape, irrigation, lighting coordination, site furniture, signage and long-term maintenance.
• Evaluate and select landscape consultants, specialist designers, contractors and tender bidders.
• Monitor performance indicators such as green area targets, planting quality, irrigation efficiency, public realm performance, accessibility and maintainability.
• Manage the full design lifecycle from concept and schematic design through detailed design, tender documentation, construction support and handover.
• Direct landscape consultants and sub-consultants and ensure compliance with Egyptian codes, authority requirements, environmental regulations and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with architecture, civil, MEP, irrigation, lighting, wayfinding, operations and maintenance teams.
• Support construction with material and plant approvals, mock-ups, RFIs, technical reviews and site coordination.

Required profile

• 10-12+ years of experience in landscape architecture, landscape design, public realm design or design management in real estate, consultancy, mixed-use, hospitality, retail or large-scale urban projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Landscape Design, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Professional certifications in landscape architecture, urban design, sustainability or project management are an advantage.

Required skills

• Landscape design leadership, consultant management, planting design review, hardscape and softscape coordination.
• Irrigation systems, landscape lighting coordination, public realm design and sustainable landscape practices.
• Technical design reviews, material selection, mock-up evaluations, authority approvals and contractor coordination.
• Project management, stakeholder management and communication.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
