Director, Development - Residential (Midar)

About the role

Majid Al Futtaim's MAF Properties is looking for a Development Director for its residential portfolio (Midar). The role manages the end-to-end delivery of master-planned community projects, from initial concept and feasibility through construction and handover, with quality, financial control and stakeholder alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of assigned community projects, from pre-concept through design, procurement, construction and handover.
• Oversee infrastructure coordination, utilities planning and phasing strategies for multi-phase communities.
• Support evaluation of new opportunities and pipeline projects with Strategy, Finance and COE teams on market demand, costs and ROI.
• Contribute to feasibility and master plan evaluations and recommend portfolio prioritization to the Development Owner.
• Manage appointed consultants and contractors so that design documentation, tender packages and technical submittals meet MAF's quality and sustainability standards.
• Review design progress and coordinate with Design Studio and Design Management teams.
• Work with Legal, Finance, Sales, Operations and Marketing to align delivery with business, regulatory and commercial needs.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts and cost plans with Finance and Commercial teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture or Real Estate Development.
• 10-15 years of experience in real estate development or master-planned community projects, including at least 5 years in a leadership or delivery management role.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, infrastructure coordination and residential project phasing.
• Execution-focused strategist with strong commercial and technical acumen, proactive risk mitigation and a collaborative, influential leadership style.
