Director of Food & Beverage

About the role

Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria is looking for a Director of Food & Beverage to lead the Food & Beverage Division. The role establishes plans of character, integrity and quality that support the long-term growth and profitability of the division and the hotel. The hotel opened in June 2007, has 154 rooms including 31 suites, 30 beach suites and 6 villas with private pools, and 10 food and beverage venues including an open-air 350-seat beach restaurant.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the selection, training and development of the Food & Beverage Division so that cultural and core standards are met and long-range strategic planning is carried out.
• Work with the General Manager and Planning Committee to design menus, wine lists and amenity options while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price.
• Control labour and operating costs through planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policy making and inventory control, and find creative ways to generate revenue.
• Be visible in operations, maintain relationships with regular guests and build relationships with new patrons through marketing and personal engagement.

Required profile

• College degree, preferably in hotel/restaurant management or business administration, or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years as Director of Food & Beverage or 3-4 years as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage with upscale luxury brands.
• International candidate able to demonstrate leadership and management of the division.
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
