English Teacher – Teacher Support Programme

About the role

The British Council is seeking enthusiastic English teachers to join its Teacher Support Programme (TSP) across several centres in Egypt. You will deliver high‑quality English language lessons, support learner autonomy and contribute to a vibrant cultural exchange environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and adapt English lessons to meet diverse learner needs and British Council Global Teaching Standards.
• Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback and encourage independent learning.
• Participate in professional development activities to maintain teaching excellence.
• Collaborate with centre staff on course development, marketing initiatives and customer service.
• Foster strong relationships with students and colleagues while promoting intercultural understanding.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, data protection, SEN and health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent.
• Cambridge CELTA and/or Trinity Certificate TESOL (TEFLi) or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years post‑certificate teaching experience (approximately 1,200 hours).
• Egyptian nationality with the right to work in Egypt.
• Willingness to work flexible evening hours as demand requires.
