Facility Supervisor

About the role

The Facility Supervisor leads daily operations and maintenance of plant facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient support to manufacturing. Reporting full‑time to the General Manager office, the role drives GM Manufacturing System (GMS) behaviors on the shop floor and oversees both salaried and hourly teams as well as contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day facilities operations across building services, industrial cleaning, grounds, and support services.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance using a CMMS and standard work procedures.
• Own shift management, work assignment, resource planning, and real‑time problem resolution for facility teams.
• Monitor facility KPIs (safety, environmental, cost, availability, response time, customer satisfaction) and report to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with GM safety standards, environmental regulations, and local legal requirements.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, EHS, security, and other functions to address facility issues.
• Manage contractors and service providers to meet contractual and GM standards.
• Escalate critical risks (power, water, compressed air, HVAC, fire systems) and lead rapid response actions.
• Support business continuity, emergency response plans, budgeting, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Proven experience leading facility operations teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage contractors, budgets, and cross‑functional projects.
