Finance Assistant – UNFPA Cairo Regional Office

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the International Operational Manager and Finance Associate in delivering high‑quality finance and budget services for the Arab States Regional Office. The role requires accurate, consistent work in line with UNFPA rules, guidelines and procedures, while collaborating closely with operations, programme and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing the regional office’s financial and budgetary applications, ensuring compliance with financial controls and corporate policies.
• Coordinate with programme and technical teams to verify supporting documents for payments and reconcile financial accountability dashboards.
• Develop, monitor and report on the operational budget, including travel payments, vendor invoices and receivables.
• Review supplier statements, clear aging balances and control administrative expenses.
• Support the preparation and certification of expenditures (FACE) with implementing partners.
• Maintain finance filing systems, track pending UNDP payments and assist with year‑end closure activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least five years of financial and administrative experience in the public or private sector.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Strong knowledge of financial rules, regulations and ability to explain them clearly.
• Demonstrated integrity, commitment to UNFPA values and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
