Foreign Purchasing Supervisor – Logistics & Supply Chain

About the role

The Foreign Purchasing Supervisor will lead the end‑to‑end foreign procurement process, ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods for Terra Egypt. This position requires deep knowledge of Egyptian import procedures, including Cargo X and Nafeza, and strong negotiation abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full foreign purchasing cycle from requisition to warehouse delivery, guaranteeing compliance with company policies.
• Prepare and review purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with supplier contracts.
• Handle all import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, permits, etc.) and navigate Egyptian customs regulations.
• Coordinate sea and air freight forwarding, booking shipments, tracking progress, and ensuring smooth customs clearance.
• Monitor supplier performance, enforce quality standards, and resolve delivery issues.
• Maintain detailed records of purchasing activities, import paperwork, and supplier communications.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive efficiency improvements in the purchasing process.
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and import status.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in foreign purchasing, covering the complete cycle from PO issuance to warehouse receipt.
• Demonstrated expertise with Egyptian import and customs regulations, specifically Cargo X and Nafeza platforms.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Cargo X platform.
• Proficiency with Nafeza platform.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
