General Accountant (Startup Portfolio)

About the role

Mobility Pro DMCC is looking for a hands-on General Accountant to manage accounting operations across several early-stage startups in its portfolio. Each entity has its own financials, systems and requirements, so the role calls for someone who can own day-to-day accounting across assigned entities, including AR, AP, bank reconciliations, COGS and cash management, and run the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable across entities
• Process bank reconciliations and cash management; track petty cash and expense claims
• Handle COGS tracking and invoice processing
• Record and maintain all accounting transactions, manage the general ledger, journal entries, accruals and reconciliations, and ensure invoices are correctly categorized between COGS and operating expenses
• Maintain organized, audit-ready financial documentation
• Prepare monthly management accounts per entity (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Track startup burn rates and operational spending, and develop variance commentary and financial insights for management
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting and ad hoc analysis
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, coordinate with auditors and tax consultants when needed, and help improve accounting systems and workflows
• Support founders and management with finance-related operational matters

Required profile

• 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Background as a General Accountant, Senior Accountant or Finance Executive
• Experience in startups, SMEs or multi-entity environments preferred
• Proactive, self-motivated with a strong ownership mindset, able to manage several companies with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills in English
