General Accountant – Travel Agency (Cairo)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced General Accountant to supervise, track, and evaluate daily accounting activities within its travel agency operations. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget control, and compliance with finance regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare cash forecasts, compute taxes, and file tax returns.
• Manage balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and perform variance analysis.
• Reconcile trust account statements, supplier accounts, and asset records.
• Control budget, coordinate with other departments, and ensure monthly accruals are accurate.
• Prepare operational guidelines, company management standards, and support annual audits.

Required profile

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position within a travel agency, focusing on incoming business (excluding Hajj and Umrah).
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritize work.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with accounting software, preferably GATS or similar systems.
