General Manager - Fairmont Sharm El Sheikh (Pre-Opening)

About the role

Fairmont Sharm El Sheikh is a luxury resort with 414 guestrooms and suites and 316 Fairmont Branded Residences, combining resort, residential, wellness, lifestyle and hospitality experiences. This General Manager role covers the pre-opening, opening and long-term positioning of the resort, shaping its culture, commercial success and reputation. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the pre-opening and opening of the resort and define its long-term strategy, working closely with ownership and the community
• Build strong relationships with owners, the management team and colleagues, and set high performance standards
• Manage renovations, keeping the process transparent and communicating clearly
• Handle VIP guests and understand international protocols for government officials and royalty
• Monitor guest feedback, address concerns promptly and implement improvements
• Maximise financial performance, control costs and execute marketing and operational activities that meet or exceed the business plan
• Apply expertise in sales, marketing and revenue management
• Support staff growth through coaching, mentoring and regular feedback, and reward outstanding performance

Required profile

• Experience as a General Manager in a luxury hotel; resort and all-inclusive experience preferred
• Experience in Egypt and in pre-opening/opening hotels is an asset
• Experience managing owner relations and a proven track record of building a strong service and quality culture
• Strong educational background with professional qualifications
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus
• Commercially savvy with experience in leisure, individual and wholesaler business
