Handover Engineer

About the role

The Handover Engineer ensures that residential and commercial units are delivered to clients fully ready for occupation. Working closely with construction, engineering and customer service teams, the role drives the final inspection, snagging and handover processes to meet project schedules and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement unit handover plans aligned with overall project delivery schedules.
• Verify completion of site construction activities before handover to guarantee technical and operational readiness.
• Lead snagging and de‑snagging inspections, coordinating with contractors, consultants and quality‑control teams to clear defect lists.
• Review technical documentation, ensuring testing & commissioning reports, statutory approvals, utility connections, operation manuals and warranties are complete.
• Supervise the Site Task Force team responsible for final inspections, key handovers and customer walkthroughs.
• Allocate daily inspection workloads to site coordinators and junior staff, monitoring defect‑rectification productivity.
• Conduct daily follow‑ups with contractors to enforce timely closure of outstanding snags and technical issues.
• Guide customers through technical unit orientations, facility operations and community guidelines during handover appointments.
• Escalate critical technical or contractual risks to senior management and maintain detailed handover records.
• Enforce HSE standards during site visits and contractor rectification work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural or Building Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience in real‑estate, site engineering, quality control or property handover.
• Experience in residential compounds, multi‑family housing or large‑scale commercial developments is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building finishes, MEP basics, snagging and defect‑rectification workflows.
