Head of Operations

About the role

Thndr is building the primary investment account in Egypt and aims to reshape active trading across the MENA region. As Head of Operations you will own the engine that keeps the platform running reliably at scale, driving operational excellence as the business expands into new markets, asset classes, and millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define the operating model for Trading Ops, Financial Ops, and Account Opening, setting team structure and success metrics.
• Own daily and ad‑hoc cycles that keep the platform running end‑to‑end across all markets.
• Manage daily settlement, end‑of‑day processes, and reconciliation across multiple markets.
• Oversee corporate actions such as dividends, splits, IPOs, and tender offers.
• Handle mutual fund operations including order processing, payments, and reconciliation with asset managers.
• Direct funding operations across all channels with same‑day exception handling.
• Build and grow a team of operations managers and specialists in trading, money movement, and account opening.
• Lead incident management as a core operational discipline.

Required profile

• Sharp analytical instincts and a builder’s orientation.
• Background in strategy consulting, investment banking, business operations, or a high‑ownership role at a fast‑growing company.
• Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems and design scalable operating systems.
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable with data and turning findings into clear narratives.
• Experience managing and developing people with high performance standards.
• Effective cross‑functional partner with product, tech, compliance, and external partners (exchanges, clearinghouses, asset managers, banks).
• Conviction that automation and AI are essential for scaling.
• Quick learner of new regulatory and operational frameworks.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Prior operations experience in financial services.
