Head of Primary Stage - August 2026

About the role

Scholars International Language School is looking for an experienced Head of Primary for the 2026/27 academic year. The successful candidate will lead the Primary phase, drive excellence in teaching and learning and empower students and staff to reach their full potential. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership to the Primary School, ensuring high academic standards and student personal development.
• Act as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, collaborating with staff across departments on school policies, curriculum developments and pedagogy.
• Oversee curriculum implementation, covering planning, delivery, assessment and monitoring in line with national and international standards.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive environment that supports student wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Work with the academic director (dean) to mentor and develop teachers and middle leaders.
• Engage with parents and the wider community to build partnerships supporting students' growth.
• Manage resources such as budgeting and timetabling, and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies.

• Exceptional and experienced educational leader committed to high-quality primary education.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging History lessons aligned with the curriculum.
• Ability to assess student progress and adapt teaching to individual needs.
• Ability to create an inclusive classroom that encourages critical thinking and active learning.
• Strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues, and willingness to take part in professional development and school activities.
