Japanese ↔ English Medical & Legal Interpreter (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for bilingual Japanese‑English professionals to provide medical and legal interpretation services remotely. The work includes over‑the‑phone (OPI), video remote interpreting (VRI), and scheduled sessions for high‑priority cases.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret spoken Japanese and English accurately in medical and legal contexts.
• Handle OPI, VRI, and pre‑scheduled appointments according to client needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Take concise notes and retain information throughout each session.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 + years of professional interpretation experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in either medical or legal sectors (include details in resume).
• Flexible availability for real‑time and scheduled interpreting.
• Strong listening, memory retention, and note‑taking abilities.

Required skills

• Professional, HIPAA‑compliant remote setup.
• Wired USB headset with noise‑cancellation.
• Internet connection of at least 10 Mbps upload and 20 Mbps download.
