Junior Backend Developer (Java)

About the role

Advansys is looking for a Junior Backend Developer (Java) in Cairo. The role covers analyzing business requirements for Vodafone products and services, designing and implementing them, owning the code end-to-end, and working in an Agile team while following Vodafone's security and privacy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and approach simple, optimal designs for products and services
• Own the code from design through development, ensuring the highest quality and best customer experience
• Provide third-line support for live complaints that need fixing or enhancement
• Communicate with technical and business stakeholders to agree on requirements and proposed design
• Ensure proper documentation and share knowledge with team members
• Make sure the team adopts automation and DevOps techniques and follows security and privacy policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Experience in software engineering
• Experience managing full application stacks from the operating system up through custom applications
• Strong data-driven analytical skills, good communication skills, and comfort in a multi-tasking, high-energy environment

Required skills

• Cloud-based infrastructure: OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker
• DevOps tools
• Good knowledge of computer networks
• Java frameworks, Hibernate, databases, Node.js and/or Angular are a plus
• Exposure to virtualization, cloud computing and cybersecurity is a plus
