Lead Architect

About the role

Sabbour Consulting is seeking an experienced Lead Architect to head its architectural department. You will be responsible for guiding design teams, ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulations, and delivering high‑quality projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the architectural department, including senior architects, designers and junior staff.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, mentor team members and promote professional development.
• Oversee preparation, review and approval of architectural designs, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, local building codes and international standards.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals and technical documents.
• Resolve design conflicts and provide guidance on complex architectural issues.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP and civil disciplines for integrated project designs.
• Communicate with clients, consultants and contractors to address design queries.
• Support on‑site implementation of design concepts and enforce quality‑control procedures.
• Develop project schedules, monitor design progress and prepare performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 18 + years of experience in architectural design and project management.
• At least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing architectural teams.
• Experience with large‑scale residential, commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes and international design standards.
• Excellent leadership, coordination and communication abilities.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
