LVS Test Engineer

About the role

ABB is looking for a skilled LVS Test Engineer to lead testing and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) operations for low‑voltage switchgear in Egypt. You will ensure compliance with IEC 61439‑1/2 standards, support continuous improvement, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver world‑class quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead testing and FAT activities for low‑voltage switchgear, ensuring adherence to IEC 61439‑1/2 and ABB quality standards.
• Execute routine tests, protection relay programming, functional verification, and produce product documentation.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and procedures.
• Operate testing equipment for relay, HV, CT, VT, contact resistance, and insulation resistance measurements.
• Program relay protection systems for accurate testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting according to IEC and ANSI standards.
• Interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, and system schematics to support fault analysis.
• Supervise and mentor technicians, monitor progress, and report key milestones.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement opportunities to enhance processes and product quality.
• Support supplier assessment activities to verify compliance with quality expectations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in low‑voltage testing, FAT, and commissioning of low‑voltage switchgear systems.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 61439‑1/2, IEC and ANSI standards, and protection relay programming.
• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience supervising technicians and driving continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
