About the role

The Material Planner applies supply‑chain principles and GM Manufacturing System tools to guarantee material availability, optimise inventory and support uninterrupted production. Working onsite at the GM office, the role independently leads planning initiatives and collaborates with purchasing, engineering, warehousing, logistics and suppliers to drive measurable improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Review monthly SAP plans, investigate and resolve MRP deviations at the part level.
  • Release and communicate delivery plans to local suppliers, updating them according to production sequences.
  • Receive, analyse and report on imported material data, flagging risk items and coordinating corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain manpower and material operating plans based on takt time, demand and production schedules.
  • Monitor daily shortage reports, follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Manage shipping of consignment material (CKD, local, PM) and support high‑risk shipment recovery.
  • Track material expiry, drive corrective actions to avoid waste and line impact.
  • Issue Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) reports, document delivery violations and escalations.
  • Track and report supplier KPIs, capacity issues and supply‑chain performance metrics to leadership.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in material planning, supply‑chain or operations management.
  • Proven ability to apply lean and structured problem‑solving tools.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and improving supply continuity.

Required skills

  • SAP MRP planning and deviation investigation.
  • Takt‑time analysis and demand‑driven material planning.
  • Inventory management, including in‑consignment, CKD, local and PM tracking.
  • Supplier KPI tracking, capacity planning and performance reporting.
  • Shortage and risk identification, escalation and closure management.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Power Apps.
