Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

UGCE Consultants is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Alexandria office. The role involves creating detailed mechanical designs for systems and machines, using advanced CAD tools, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and model mechanical components and assemblies using AutoCAD and related CAD software.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements to produce accurate designs.
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure designs are feasible and align with project execution plans.
• Verify that designs comply with local and international standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Support the integration of HVAC, firefighting, and plumbing systems where applicable.
• Prepare documentation, reports, and design revisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2‑4 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or design.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Organizational and reporting competence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with Revit or similar engineering software (preferred).
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience with site coordination and project execution.
