Mechanical Design Engineer – Steel Manufacturing

About the role

ELBATTAT, a leading steel manufacturing company in Egypt, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its technical office in Alexandria. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality technical documentation, creating detailed mechanical designs, and supporting projects from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical documents such as drawings, bills of materials, instruction sheets, and data sheets.
• Issue product codes for newly approved items and develop detailed design specifications.
• Create mechanical product designs that meet performance, production, and cost‑reduction targets.
• Develop calculation sheets to validate dimensions, loads, and material selections.
• Provide hands‑on technical support during project execution and resolve design‑related issues.
• Investigate client technical complaints and propose corrective actions.
• Review tender documents and prepare technical submissions.
• Ensure all outputs comply with required specifications and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a technical office or mechanical design role.
• Strong command of English and Arabic.
• Ability to solve technical problems independently through research and critical thinking.
• Advanced degree (M.Eng., MSc, or MBA) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Fusion 360.
• Strong command of Microsoft 365 applications.
• Experience using AI tools for engineering tasks.
