Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Tobacco & FMCG Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with 3‑4 years of experience in tobacco and FMCG manufacturing. The role focuses on keeping high‑speed production and packaging lines running reliably through preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Monitor machine performance, recommend improvements and support production targets.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis (RCA) and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Plan and execute maintenance shutdowns and manage spare‑parts inventory.
• Record maintenance activities in CMMS/ERP systems and ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental and quality standards.
• Coordinate with electrical, automation and production teams for seamless plant operations.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and modification of new equipment and lines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3‑4 years of maintenance experience in tobacco, FMCG or similar continuous‑process factories.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, high‑speed production machinery and utility equipment.
• Familiarity with TPM, Lean Manufacturing and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs and technical manuals.
• Experience with CMMS or SAP PM preferred.
