Mechanical Procurement Engineer – Team Leader

About the role

The Mechanical Procurement Team Leader Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Egypt. You will lead the mechanical procurement function, sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers for mechanical materials, equipment and services. The role supports project delivery by ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality procurement aligned with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical specifications and coordinate with engineering and project teams.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, analyse quotations and negotiate prices and terms.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensure compliance with quality standards and oversee inspections of mechanical items.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
• Collaborate with maintenance, construction and industrial operations to improve procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in procurement or supply‑chain within construction, industrial or mechanical engineering environments.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management and cost‑analysis abilities.
• Ability to work on‑site in Egypt, manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering knowledge and experience with mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• CAD skills for interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Inspection skills to verify quality, conformity and performance of mechanical materials.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office.
