Mechanical Team Lead – Plumbing & Firefighting

About the role

The Mechanical Team Lead (Plumbing & Firefighting) will head a multidisciplinary team of engineers and BIM modelers responsible for designing and delivering plumbing and fire‑protection systems for commercial, residential, hospitality and healthcare projects. Based in the Cairo design back‑office, the role supports projects primarily for the UAE and KSA markets while ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, organise and allocate work for plumbing and firefighting engineers, designers and BIM modelers across multiple concurrent projects.
• Review technical output for quality, code compliance and BIM standards.
• Act as the primary technical authority for the discipline, coordinating with the Dubai head office, clients and other engineering disciplines.
• Develop and maintain BIM execution plans, LOD requirements and model coordination using Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage and related tools.
• Ensure adherence to IPC standards, Elite Fire Hydratec specifications and project schedules.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of experience in MEP design, specifically plumbing and fire‑protection systems.
• Proven people‑leadership experience managing engineers and BIM modelers.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and KSA plumbing and fire‑protection codes.
• Ability to plan workloads, allocate resources and deliver high‑quality technical documentation.
