Merchandiser Assistant

About the role

The Merchandiser Assistant supports the Senior Merchandiser in financial planning, inventory analysis and demand execution for assigned product categories. The role ensures the right products are available in the right markets at the right time while contributing to category profit and loss targets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) plans for assigned categories, tracking intake against budget and flagging over‑ or under‑investment.
• Support monthly financial re‑forecasting and scenario modelling (best, base, worst case).
• Develop and maintain SKU‑level demand forecasts, incorporating seasonality, promotions and trend signals.
• Continuously re‑forecast based on live sell‑through and stock performance data.
• Translate OTB intake plans into allocation and distribution decisions across markets, monitoring stock cover and identifying imbalances.
• Assist with replenishment planning, ageing stock management and markdown timing.
• Monitor weekly category trading performance, prepare commentary and recommend corrective actions for under‑performing SKUs.
• Collaborate with Buyers, Supply Chain and Online Merchandising to align intake, deployment and inventory data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain or a related field.
• At least 24 months of experience in merchandising, inventory analysis, demand planning or a similar role.
