Neptune Maintenance & Utilities Leader

About the role

The Neptune Maintenance & Utilities Leader is responsible for ensuring the reliability and uptime of plant equipment through effective preventive maintenance and utilities management. Reporting to senior plant management, this role coordinates maintenance activities across the factory to minimise production interruptions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and oversee preventive maintenance programmes to maximise equipment reliability.
• Coordinate and prioritise work orders, ensuring minimal downtime for production lines.
• Lead, coach and supervise a team of maintenance engineers and external contractors.
• Maintain spare‑part inventory levels and ensure timely availability of supplies.
• Develop and monitor maintenance budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Identify process improvements and equipment upgrades to increase efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Keep accurate records of work orders, equipment history and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams on new equipment installations and projects.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers to secure timely, cost‑effective support.
• Analyse frequent failures, diagnose root causes and supervise corrective actions.
• Approve vacations and assess performance of engineers within the performance management system.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities with a focus on equipment reliability.
• Ability to manage budgets and drive cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Good knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Experience supervising engineers and coordinating with external contractors.
