Police Officer – City of Pflugerville

About the role

The City of Pflugerville Police Department is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to join its team. Working under the supervision of a Police Sergeant, you will enforce federal, state, and local laws while providing a visible presence that deters crime and supports community safety.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol city streets to deter criminal activity and assist citizens.
• Investigate crimes, secure scenes, gather evidence, interview witnesses and suspects, and make arrests.
• Prepare and present cases in court, serving as a witness when required.
• Respond to traffic accidents, administer first aid, investigate causes, and recommend preventive actions.
• Identify and report public safety hazards.
• Control traffic flow, issue citations, and authorize vehicle tow or impoundment.
• Complete accurate and timely incident reports.
• Perform animal control duties for ordinance violations and wildlife encounters.
• Provide public assistance such as unlocking vehicles, roadside aid, and community policing activities.
• Support specialized functions like School Resource Officer duties and dispatch assistance.
• Maintain patrol vehicles in safe, clean condition and conduct crime‑prevention inspections.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and initiative.
• Willingness to work under the direction of a Police Sergeant and collaborate with other law‑enforcement agencies.
