Procurement Specialist – Steel Materials

About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and acquisition of steel and fabrication materials for Gazala Steel Fabrication in New Cairo. The role involves coordinating with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality raw materials.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and develop local, regional and international suppliers for steel plates, structural steel, pipes, fittings, welding consumables and related materials.
• Prepare RFQs, obtain quotations, compare offers and conduct commercial evaluations.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and contractual conditions.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Coordinate procurement requirements with Engineering, Production, Planning, Projects, Warehouse and Finance teams.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost, responsiveness and delivery.
• Manage foreign procurement activities, including imports, shipping, customs clearance and logistics.
• Maintain approved supplier databases and procurement records.
• Analyse market trends, steel prices and supply‑chain risks to support decision‑making.
• Participate in cost‑reduction initiatives and strategic sourcing projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain, preferably in steel fabrication or metal structures.
• Experience sourcing from both local and international suppliers, with knowledge of import/export procedures and Incoterms.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and ability to work under pressure.
