Project Interface Manager

About the role

Hitachi Rail GTS Egypt is looking for a Project Interface Manager in Cairo. The role acts as the main point of contact for interface issues between the consortium partner, vendors and internal teams, covering the railway system's track, signalling, power and telecom components. The position is full time and on site.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for interface issues from design through construction to commissioning.
• Develop and maintain interface management plans, documenting requirements, specifications and agreements.
• Work with design teams so interface requirements are built into design specifications, and review drawings for compliance.
• Set criteria to judge each interface by criticality, complexity and risk, and oversee the creation of Systems Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and the interface matrix.
• Hold regular interface meetings and workshops with consortium partners, vendors and internal teams, and act as liaison with external stakeholders.
• Track progress, resolve conflicts and establish metrics, reviews and audits to check compliance with interface processes.
• Prepare cost and time estimates for new programmes, assess foreseeable risks and revise plans and forecasts as needed.
• Ensure tasks stay on schedule and within budget, and foster collaboration among stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in interface management for large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in transportation, construction or rail.
• Experience working with consortium partners and multiple vendors across disciplines such as electrification, track and civil works.
• Strong oral and written English; Spanish is a plus.
