Purchasing Engineer

About the role

The Purchasing Engineer will manage all purchasing activities for material, services, and assets, ensuring timely and cost‑effective procurement in line with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Handle assigned projects according to department strategy.
• Send Request for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers based on specifications.
• Obtain, negotiate, and compare quotations; prepare comparison sheets.
• Draft purchase orders (PO) and obtain approvals from PM/BUM.
• Issue PO, monitor daily status, and report weekly to managers.
• Review market trends, pricing, and delivery conditions.
• Develop and maintain a consolidated supplier database.
• Approve PO, initiate advance payments, and support purchase officers with order acknowledgements and advance payment invoices.
• Match supplier bank details in SAP and raise change requests when mismatched.
• Cross‑check invoices, provide feedback for L/C establishment, and approve LC release requests.
• Assist Commercial Section with foreign currency statements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a technical field, preferably Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement practices and Incoterms.
• Experience drafting and managing service contracts with awareness of tax and legal implications.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement software.
