About the role

Westview International Language School is looking for an experienced and visionary Science Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year to lead its science department. The role combines teaching with leadership responsibilities, aiming to drive academic excellence and build a collaborative, innovative science learning environment. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality science lessons across grade levels, inspiring students and helping them understand scientific concepts.
• Lead and manage the science department by setting clear goals, developing the curriculum and monitoring teaching effectiveness.
• Support and mentor science teachers, facilitate professional development and foster best teaching practices.
• Coordinate planning and implementation of the science curriculum in line with school standards and educational frameworks.
• Analyze student performance data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage departmental resources, budgets and equipment efficiently.
• Collaborate with school leadership and other departments on school-wide initiatives.
• Engage parents and the wider community to support the science program.
• Keep up with educational trends, scientific advances and pedagogical best practices through continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Science Education, a relevant science field or equivalent; a master's degree is an advantage.
• Proven teaching experience, preferably 3+ years, including some in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Teaching certification or professional qualifications relevant to the role preferred.
