About the role

Scholar's International Language School is looking for an outstanding and motivated Science Teacher / Head of Department for the 2026/27 academic year. The successful candidate will deliver engaging science lessons and provide effective leadership to the department, driving high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality science lessons across the secondary phase.
• Lead and develop the science department, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment.
• Support curriculum planning, assessment and departmental development.
• Mentor colleagues and promote collaborative practice.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in science or a related field with a recognised teaching qualification.
• Leadership experience or the potential to lead a department.
• Strong organisational, communication and classroom management skills.
