Senior Backend Developer – Python/Django Lead (7+ yrs)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to lead the design and evolution of the backend architecture for our NexusGRID™ platform. The role involves building highly scalable, secure, and high‑performance services that process millions of telemetry records from energy assets. You will collaborate with frontend engineers, data scientists, DevOps, QA, and product teams to deliver enterprise‑grade software for utilities worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of backend services and micro‑services.
• Design and develop scalable REST APIs.
• Build reliable, secure, high‑performance distributed systems using Django.
• Optimize database models and performance.
• Create asynchronous processing pipelines with Celery or equivalent.
• Implement event‑driven architectures where appropriate.
• Ensure code quality through reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps to improve deployment and infrastructure automation.
• Define API contracts with frontend teams and productionize ML models with data scientists.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level developers and participate in architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Proven experience leading backend teams or projects.
