Senior Environment Health Safety Engineer

About the role

Hill International is seeking an experienced Senior Environment Health Safety Engineer to lead HSE activities on construction projects across Egypt. The role involves daily site supervision, ensuring compliance with Egyptian labor regulations and company safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect project sites daily to verify adherence to safety rules and proper use of PPE.
• Implement and monitor safety policies in line with Egyptian Labor Law No. 12 of 2003.
• Develop simple, effective Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analyses for daily activities.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety orientations, and training sessions for engineers and laborers.
• Investigate accidents or near‑misses, produce clear incident reports, and implement corrective actions.
• Support internal audits and inspections by civil defense and Ministry of Manpower authorities.
• Monitor subcontractors to ensure strict compliance with HSE standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience on Egyptian construction or industrial sites.
• Valid OSHA 30‑Hour or NEBOSH IGC certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Registered with NIOSH Egypt or completed the Ministry of Manpower HSE Specialist/Basic course.
• Fluent Arabic with strong written and spoken English for reporting.
