Senior Power Supply Engineer

About the role

Egis International, a leading global architectural, consulting, construction engineering, operations and mobility services firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Supply Engineer to join its engineering team in Alexandria, Egypt. The role suits someone with extensive experience designing, developing and optimizing power supply systems, with a strong background in power electronics and power conversion technologies. Experience in the railway or metro industry is highly preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop power supply circuits and systems, including AC-DC and DC-DC converters, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency and reliability.
• Run circuit analysis and simulations with tools such as SPICE, MATLAB or equivalents to validate designs before prototyping.
• Test, validate and troubleshoot power supply prototypes and production units, and create and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, design specifications and test reports.
• Select power management ICs and passive components, and work with PCB design teams on layout, routing and thermal management.
• Ensure designs meet IEC, UL and CE safety and compliance requirements, and propose improvements to existing designs.
• Take part in design reviews, support manufacturing, quality assurance and field deployment teams, and share technical findings with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in the railway, metro or rolling stock industry.
• 10+ years of experience in power electronics or power supply design and development.
• Proven experience in AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion systems.
• Familiarity with international safety and compliance standards (IEC, UL, CE).

Required skills

• Circuit simulation and analysis tools such as SPICE, LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalents.
• PCB design tools and best practices for power applications.
• Solid understanding of PMICs and power conversion architectures.
• Hands-on experience testing, validating, debugging and troubleshooting electronic systems.
