Senior System Administrator / Application Support Engineer

About the role

Advansys is looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer in Cairo to provide technical application support during regular working hours and on-call when required. The role focuses on keeping business-critical applications available, stable, secure and performant, and involves troubleshooting, system upgrades and deployments, and service restoration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide application support during working hours and on-call, resolving technical incidents and service requests promptly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across front-end, application, database and back-end components, and integrate with back-end systems, APIs and databases.
• Monitor application health, performance and availability, and take proactive steps to prevent incidents.
• Support system upgrades, patches, enhancements and maintenance, and perform service restoration within agreed SLAs.
• Perform technical reviews of applications and proposed changes, and take part in root cause analysis of recurring and major incidents.
• Manage and support application deployments across environments, coordinating with development, infrastructure, DevOps and database teams.
• Ensure configurations meet security and operational standards, help identify vulnerabilities and prepare technical documentation, incident reports and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide support for customer care systems and related business applications, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience supporting one or more of the following applications is highly preferred: RiskWin, CashExtranete, ShopCore.
• Ability to work under pressure during critical incidents and service outages, and to handle multiple priorities at once.
• Willingness and ability to provide on-call support.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and documentation skills, and ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
