Senior Vice President, International Information Security

About the role

Mashreq is looking for an experienced senior leader to head International Information Security across its global network, including the USA, Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Pakistan, India, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. The role reports to the global security function and ensures that regional security teams align with Mashreq’s worldwide strategy, regulatory obligations and risk framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑year information security roadmap for all international operations.
• Lead regional Information Security teams, maintaining consistent standards while respecting local regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies, standards and procedures across all entities.
• Identify, assess, report and drive remediation of cyber‑risk across the international footprint.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, security standards and data‑privacy laws.
• Act as the Information Security lead for Mashreq’s London and Hong Kong businesses, overseeing regulatory compliance, data protection and security governance.
• Oversee regulatory examinations, security assessments, audits and remediation programmes, ensuring timely closure of findings.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in international banking security leadership.
• Strong understanding of global security, regulatory and data‑protection frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑country security teams and drive governance initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with business, technology, risk, compliance, legal and HR functions.
