Shift Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Shift Engineer to join our facilities team at a hotel in Cairo. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently during your shift.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect equipment, identify shut‑off valves, and operate utility shut‑offs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Document shift activities and hand over information to the next team using approved communication tools.
• Perform minor repairs: painting, drywall, wood trim, light‑bulb and A/C filter replacement, TV programming, and landscaping sprinkler maintenance.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic/electronic, and kitchen equipment.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, and report hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and kitchen equipment.
• Physical ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lb and perform heavier tasks with assistance.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality and strong communication skills.
