Software Validation & Test Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail GTS Egypt is looking for enthusiastic Validation & Test Engineers to develop expertise in embedded and safety-critical systems. The role suits candidates from automotive, telecom, SCADA, industrial automation, embedded systems or electronics backgrounds who want to move into the railway sector. It is a full-time position based in Cairo.

Key responsibilities

• Support test design and execution activities.
• Perform laboratory and integration testing.
• Document and track defects.
• Support requirements reviews and test case preparation.
• Participate in troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
• Work under the guidance of senior validation engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Understanding of embedded systems fundamentals.
• Knowledge of software and system testing principles.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good English communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming.
• Desirable: experience testing embedded products.
• Desirable: familiarity with laboratory instruments and measurement techniques.
• Desirable: exposure to automotive, aerospace, telecom, SCADA or industrial automation projects.
• Desirable: familiarity with requirements management and test tools, and basic awareness of safety-critical development concepts.
• Desirable: basic knowledge of railway systems.
