Supply Chain Assistant – Aswan

About the role

The Supply Chain Assistant will support the Supply Chain Officer in managing procurement, fleet, and asset activities for Save the Children’s operations in Aswan. The role ensures that all supply chain processes follow organisational policies, donor requirements and are delivered efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day fleet and vehicle rental operations, updating the weekly fleet plan and ensuring compliance with SCI procedures.
• Maintain the asset register, incorporate monthly updates from procurement, and submit the register to senior management.
• Prepare and issue RFIs/RFQs, track quotation deadlines, and facilitate Competitive Bid Analysis and procurement committee meetings.
• Monitor contract and purchase order delivery dates, send reminders to suppliers, and ensure timely, cost‑effective procurement of goods and services.
• Coordinate asset disposal and closure activities with project managers, applying mandatory templates for asset movement, donation and disposal.
• Embed counter‑fraud and ethical controls in all procurement processes, collaborating with Finance and Counter‑Fraud teams.
• Provide support to program operations by raising and receiving purchase requisitions.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement, asset management or fleet coordination, preferably within an international NGO or donor‑funded environment.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, reporting requirements and ethical procurement standards.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, manage deadlines and travel up to 10% to governorates.
