Technical and Delivery Manager

About the role

The Technology & Delivery Manager leads software engineering teams, shaping technical strategy, ensuring best‑in‑class architecture, and driving project execution. This position blends people management with deep technical oversight to deliver high‑quality, scalable Java applications that meet business goals and delivery timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Delivery Director and Senior Delivery Manager to enforce rigorous technical execution across projects and product streams.
• Own daily delivery tracking: monitor sprint velocity, blockers, dependencies, risks, ETAs and overall confidence.
• Maintain clear scope, prioritized backlogs, and prevent uncontrolled scope creep.
• Support agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, estimation and ensure Jira reflects real‑time status.
• Escalate delivery gaps early with impact analysis and remediation options.
• Provide architectural guidance for Java‑based enterprise systems, API‑first design, integrations and scalability.
• Review solutions for security, maintainability, SOLID compliance and long‑term architectural fit.
• Identify technical design gaps and code quality issues to avoid downstream debt.
• Translate complex technical issues into clear delivery impacts for leadership.
• Champion documentation, knowledge sharing and clear technical ownership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in an agile environment.
• Strong background in Java development and enterprise application design.
• Demonstrated ability to manage delivery governance, risk, and stakeholder communication.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on pragmatic, secure, and maintainable solutions.
