WordPress Developer

About the role

Dot IT is looking for a WordPress Developer based in Cairo. The role combines web development with technical SEO support, building and maintaining WordPress and Shopify sites for clients while helping improve their speed and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with SEO specialists to identify and fix technical SEO issues on client websites and run regular audits to optimise site speed and performance.
• Develop and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites, customising themes and plugins to meet client needs and improve user experience.
• Ensure sites are responsive, user-friendly and performant across all devices.
• Bring creative ideas to website design and functionality, and organise and manage several projects at once with timely delivery.
• Work closely with design and content teams to deliver visually appealing, effective websites.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a web developer with a strong portfolio of WordPress and Shopify sites.
• Full understanding of WordPress and WooCommerce architecture.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and knowledge of conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
• Preferably a technical SEO background.
• Strong organisational skills, creativity, problem-solving ability, attention to detail and teamwork; English and Arabic are a must.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax and PHP.
• SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs or SEMrush.
• UX and UI design principles, and familiarity with other CMS platforms and web technologies.
• Knowledge of website accessibility standards and practices.
