Accounting & Finance Manager (Retail)

About the role

We are seeking a highly competent Accounting & Finance Manager to lead financial strategy and operations for our fast‑growing retail business. The role is pivotal in ensuring financial health, providing strategic guidance, and supporting the organization’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full spectrum of accounts, including treasury, receivables, inventory, assets, payables, revenue, and expenses.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly close, account reconciliations, and compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Prepare financial statements such as balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and budgets.
• Develop and monitor departmental and organizational budgets, analysing variances and financial ratios.
• Provide management insights on revenue, customers, products, and expenses, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Support operational teams with cost analysis, pricing, and special projects.
• Manage banking relationships, cash management, and credit facilities.
• Lead tax planning, ensure compliance, and develop tax strategies.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, setting goals and providing training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 10‑15 years of relevant experience, including at least 6 years in a senior finance leadership role within retail.
• Strong knowledge of corporate financial law, risk management, and financial reporting standards.
• Professional certifications such as CMA, MBA, or FMVA are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Odoo.
